Women of Distinction 2009
Call for Nominations
Most of us know at least one Long Island woman we truly admire, an exemplar who inspires others to greater deeds. She may be an entrepreneur who began with an idea and built a multi-million-dollar business. Perhaps she’s a mother who turned a personal challenge or loss into a non-profit foundation to raise funds for research or to increase awareness of a devastating disease or important social issue. She may be a friend or community leader, an extraordinary teacher, physician or author.
Now is the time to send in nominations for our 12th annual Women of Distinction awards. Nominees must be women with strong ties to Long Island who have distinguished themselves in such areas as business, medicine, education, the media, politics, philanthropy, volunteerism, community service and sports. Tell us briefly why she is your choice to be included among the Women of Distinction 2009.
